Pastor’s Pondering – October 11, 2017

HOPE

So I began this day-

Began it well-

With hope and fortitude,

Only to stumble (nay, crashed

In glorious fashion) before breakfast

Then got up and carried on

Accomplishing much

Though carelessly annoying several colleagues on the way

Finally to sit down to lunch

Tormented in spirit by my failings-

And discovering in the book before me these words

“No map can be entirely accurate,

Nor our reading of it assured.”

Hope sometimes is replenished

From the smallest store,

Even an ounce or three of soup

Will sometimes do the trick.
