Pastor’s Pondering – January 31, 2018

I can remember now

A long hard winter,

One blizzard after another,

Highways constant in ice,

Snow piled in front of the barn doors,

Stock locked in their stalls

Until spring wandered home.

Even so it took weeks

Weeks and weeks and weeks

For the drifts to melt

And mud accumulated

EVERYWHERE

Before the glorious day came

When I could open the barn doors

And let the flock into the light of day.

They ran.

They leaped.

They cartwheeled.

They did the hokey-pokey.

Just like us,

When Jesus sets us free

And we burst into the glory.
