Pastor’s Pondering – December 5, 2018

Be ever mindful

Of the least of these,

The chickadees

Searching for crumbs

In the snow.

Be ever mindful

Of the student,

Working even during finals week,

Yearning to get past it all.

Be ever mindful

Of the parent,

Nudging and prodding and shoving

To get sleepy children

All to school.

Be ever mindful

Of the teen with one too many burdens

To juggle,

Passing through time

Without being understood.

Be ever mindful

Of the old man stocking up on

Mac and cheese,

The old woman hoping the cough syrup

Will be good enough,

The veteran who is finally

Numb to it all.

Be ever mindful

That the least of these

Can sometimes get by with crumbs-

But why should they,

When God loves us all?
