It was raining out And the cat wanted in. It was raining out And the ducks wanted out! It was raining out And the cat went out again, And lay down under the wicker seat to watch. It is raining out, And I watch out the window, Mesmerized by the drops in the puddles. It is raining out, And some folk are sick, And some are grieving, And some are calling their friends, And some are working, or trying to, And the world is turning, And some are praying, O Lord, Let your kingdom come! Let it come Lord, Because sometimes the grief is too hard, And the horror is too real, And the wait is too long For resurrection. But even now, Lord, A rainbow might hold our hand And whisper, All will be well.
