Addie Bea’s Seafood Restaurant will be working with the clients at We Care to provide a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day for those that are in need of a good meal and/or fellowship for the holiday. Ms. Betty Baker will be giving vouchers to We Care clients and Addie Bea’s is planning three sittings of 40 people each from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The menu that day will be turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, rolls, and pumpkin pie. Addie Bea’s will provide the cranberry sauce, gravy, green beans, drinks, and pumpkin for the pies. They are asking for a little help from the local churches for donations of a few turkeys, boxed mashed potato mix, sweet potatoes (raw or prepared to serve), rolls, pie crust, and a few cans of evaporated milk. Addie Bea’s staff will be volunteering to serve and prepare the food, but if any church members would like to donate their time, they welcome anyone and everyone.
Donations can be dropped off at the restaurant any time Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. Addie Bea’s has freezers that can store items, so if you would like to purchase a turkey, rolls, or pie crusts and drop them by, they have room to keep on their shelves until time to prepare them, so if you are at Wal-Mart and want to run a box of potato mix by, they are always there.
Any donations not used for the meal will be given to We Care to distribute as the need arrives.
If you would like to help, please feel free to call Addie Bea’s at 587-3287 or stop by, have a bite to eat, and let them know you would like to help.
